What is DAMA QLD?

A DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) in Queensland is a formal agreement between the Australian Government and a local regional authority, allowing businesses to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers in occupations that cannot be filled locally—even if the occupation isn’t on the standard skilled list.

  • Far North Queensland DAMA:
Managed by the Cairns Chamber of Commerce, covers areas such as Cairns, Douglas, Mareeba, Cassowary Coast, Tablelands, and more.
  • Townsville DAMA:
Managed by Townsville Enterprise Limited, covers Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Hinchinbrook, Mackay, and more.
