Advertising Industry Labour Agreement

Overview: Bring Skilled Overseas Talent to Your Agency

The Advertising Industry Labour Agreement allows approved Australian advertising, marketing, and creative agencies to sponsor highly skilled overseas workers for critical roles that cannot be filled locally.

Eligible Occupations

Under this agreement, you can sponsor skilled overseas workers for the following five positions:

  • Advertising Specialist (ANZSCO 225111)
  • Graphic Designer (ANZSCO 232411)
  • Copywriter (ANZSCO 212411)
  • Multimedia Designer (ANZSCO 232413)
  • Web Developer (ANZSCO 261212)

Visa Options

You can nominate and sponsor workers for:

  • Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482)
  • Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186)

Endorsement Requirement

Before you can apply for a Labour Agreement, your business must be endorsed by:

  • Media Federation of Australia (MFA)
  • Advertising Council Australia (ACA)

Endorsement from both bodies is mandatory.

Business & Position Criteria

  • Your business must be actively operating in Australia, meet all Fair Work and workplace obligations, and have a genuine ongoing need for the role.
  • You must employ the sponsored worker on a full-time basis.
  • Labour market testing:
    Demonstrate that you have advertised and attempted to fill the position locally before seeking an overseas candidate.

Salary Requirements

  • The minimum guaranteed annual earnings for each sponsored role is AUD $85,000 (as at 2024–2025).
  • You must pay at least the market salary rate for the occupation, which may vary depending on the position and experience level.

Skills, Qualifications, & Experience

  • SID visa (subclass 482): At least three years of relevant experience
  • ENS visa (subclass 186): At least six years of relevant experience
  • English language: Must meet the requirements for the Skills in Demand visa (Core Skills stream)

Age

  • No age limit for the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482).
  • For the ENS (subclass 186), applicants must be under 45 years at the time of application.

Terms & Conditions

  • All terms and conditions of the Advertising Industry Labour Agreement are fixed and non-negotiable.
  • You can only nominate workers for the above five ANZSCO occupations.
